Big Match Set For Matt Sydal's Ring Of Honor Return, Michael Elgin Update, Glory By Honor

- As noted, Matt Sydal (Evan Bourne) will be returning to Ring of Honor on Saturday, September 27th in Wheeling, West Virginia for TV tapings at the WesBanco Arena. He will be facing AJ Styles.

- ROH Glory By Honor 13 will take place on November 15th at the Shrine Auditorium in San Antonio, TX.

- As of this morning, Michael Elgin was still stuck in Canada due to work visa issues. He wrestled for UIPW over the weekend.

- The latest episode of DDPtv features Mike Mullins from DDPYoga Radio taking five chops from Diamond Dallas Page, as seen above.

- Syfy has once again updated their schedule for October and lists SmackDown in its normal 8pm time slot on Friday nights. SmackDown staying on Fridays was confirmed by WWE a few weeks back.

- As noted, Christian will host a Peep Show segment with Chris Jericho on the WWE Night of Champions Kickoff pre-show this Sunday. Christian has been cleared to wrestle for some time but WWE hasn't had anything for him to do. Sunday could be a way to reintroduce him to the storylines.

* Johnny Gargano defeated Anthony Nese with a roll up.

* Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Timothy Thatcher after referee stoppage when Sabre kept kicking Thatcher in the head.

* Uhaa Nation defeated Roderick Strong.

* Caleb Konley defeated DGUSA Champion Ricochet in a non-title match.

* Moose defeated AR Fox by disqualification when The Bravado Bros. interfered.

* DGUSA Tag Team Champions The Bravado Bros. defeated The Colony with a low blow.

* Drew Galloway defeated Rich Swann with a sleeper hold to retain the EVOLVE Title.

- Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family is working through some sort of eye injury.

- Tickets for the next WWE NXT TV tapings on September 25th are available at this link. Just over 300 general admission seats remain. As noted, Rusev, Lana and Jack Swagger will be appearing.

- Former NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension will also be working more main roster live events coming up.

* R-Truth kicks off the show with a promo. He messes up and says Jacksonville, MS. He gets a little lighthearted heat. He correctly pops the crowd with the correct town name. R-truth defeats Fandango

* Sami Zayn vs Tyson Kidd was next. Zayn defeats Kidd. These guys can wrestle and showed the crowd just that.

* 6 diva tag match was voted for next. Brie Bella, Naomi & Eva Marie defeated Nikki Bella, Cameron & Alicia Fox. Solid divas match.

* The fourth match was Los Matadores with El Torito vs The Ascension. Los matadores pick up the win.

* Intercontinental championship match is announced next. Bo Dallas comes out and cuts a promo. The Miz comes out and cuts a promo. Dolph Ziggler comes out to a big pop. This match was great and featured an exchange of 10 consecutive school boy pin attempts by all three involved. Ziggler picks up the win to retain.

Intermission

* Damien Mizdow cuts a promo. Adam Rose is out next. Adam Rose defeats Mizdow. This was a bit of a comedy match with the bunny being involved and distracting Mizdow.

* Rusev vs Jack Swagger is the next match. Lana cuts a promo drawing HUGE heat. Swagger's music hits and the crowd pops. Zeb Colter cuts a promo which had the crowd on fire. Good match with similar finish to their Summerslam match. Rusev defeats Swagger.

* Main event is next. Randy Orton comes out to a big pop. Roman Reigns comes out to a similarly big pop. Chair, kendo stick and table were used. Randy Orton suffered two lacerations during the match. The first was when he was trying to set up a table. It seemed that he cut at least one or more fingers. It was quite obvious he was frustrated about this. Medical staff came down to look at his fingers and provided him with a towel and taped his finger(s). Later in the match, he suffered a cut on his back. Reigns wins with the spear.

This show was very solid. The Jackson crowd is always hot. The building was near a sell out if not sold out.

As noted earlier, Supertraining Gym in Sacramento posted a video last month (which has since been removed) of John Cena training with Mark Bell. During the video, Cena was asked about turning heel and he made it clear that it's not happening.

"[It will] never happen," Cena said. "Oh I've got it in me for sure... I do what they tell me, boss."

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent issue of The Wrestling Observer that with the absence of Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, Cena's merchandise recently - and may still - be outselling the rest of the roster combined. He also noted that live events with John Cena appearing average more than $60,000 than non-Cena shows. He also pointed out that shows without Cena in cities that they have run before do lower than usual business, while events with Cena do not.

- There will be a WWE RAW Kickoff pre-show this week but no Backstage Pass post-show. After RAW goes off the air tomorrow night, WWE Network will air the first episode of Slam City.

- A new episode of The Monday Night War will air this Tuesday on WWE Network and will feature Bret Hart. The synopsis reads like this:

"A controversial end to Bret Hart's WWE career forever changes the fate of Monday Night Raw and Monday Nitro."

- The new WWE Countdown that airs on Tuesday will count down the top 10 moments from Royal Rumble pay-per-view events.

- PWInsider reports that TNA may be producing some episodes of Impact Wrestling that are made up of mostly clips, highlights and reviews of storylines. They would go this route if they end up not having enough material to air on Spike TV once they're finished with this week's tapings in Bethlehem, PA.

- There's a belief among some of the TNA wrestlers that officials have made an offer to get Bully Ray to return and finish out the tag team series with The Wolves and The Hardys. We noted that Bully is now being advertised by himself for Bound For Glory.

- Regarding Jeff Hardy's status for Bound For Glory in Japan, he should be able to enter the country if TNA wants him on the show. As of this writing, Hardy is still not being advertised for the event. There was some speculation that Hardy might not be allowed into Japan due to his felony conviction but a TNA source told Mike Johnson of PWInsider that he should be good to go.

AAA's Lucha Underground taped their third episode in Los Angeles last night. The fourth episode will be taped tonight and we should have full results from both shows soon.

Last night's episode was said to have been headlined by a great three-way with Fenix Jr. vs. Drago vs. Pentagon Jr. El Hijo Del Fantasma also worked the tapings under a new personality.

There was some fan criticism after the first two tapings over how they weren't really "lucha" and the producers really tried to work on that issue this week.

We noted before that NXT Champion Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn and Tyler Breeze were scheduled for tomorrow night's WWE RAW broadcast.

Zayn and Breeze are currently scheduled for the next few weeks of main roster TV tapings while Neville is currently scheduled to be at the tapings well into the month of October.

TNA's Director of New Media Bill Banks noted on LinkedIn this weekend that he and the TNA crew was working on a new show called TNA Legends.

WWE Sting DVD Cover Photo And New Title, Sting Making Rare NYC Appearance

Sting will be making a rare appearance in New York City on November 8th atThe Big Event at the LaGuardia Plaza Hotel in West Elmhurst.
